Sgraffito and Mishima on Hand Built Pottery

Sgraffito in pottery is a decorative process where colored slips or underglazes are applied to a clay body and then carved through to reveal the clay underneath. Mishima is a similar process where color is inlayed into the carved lines. In this 6 week long class students will alternate between creating vessels and decorating them with these carving techniques. All pieces will be glazed on the last day of class. Completed pieces will be available for pick up at a later day.
